What does a Certified Arborist do During a Consultation?

A certified arborist consultation is a professional, two-phase evaluation designed to assess the structural integrity and health of your trees. During the initial walkthrough, an ISA-certified arborist observes your trees from both a distance and up close, examining the canopy, trunk, root flare, and surrounding soil. They check for warning signs like cracks, cavities, thinning foliage, fungal growth, or significant lean.

If the initial inspection identifies potential issues, the consultation moves to advanced diagnostics. This may include using a resistograph to measure internal wood density for decay, or collecting soil and tissue samples for lab analysis to diagnose diseases or nutrient deficiencies.

The entire process typically spans 30 to 60 minutes. Following the inspection, you will receive a detailed written report that categorizes the status of each tree, provides expert recommendations for maintenance or mitigation, and includes an obligation-free, custom quote for any suggested work.
